Let’s create something. Just about anything will do. Draw something. Photograph something. Make a video. Write some music. How about a rap tune? If that’s not your thing, I’ll bet you’ve got a grandchild that would love to create some rap if they had some way to set it to music–like the Garage Band app can.
The key here is to create. We’re out to prove that anybody can create. Actually it’s Apple that feels “Everyone Can Create.” We’re just trying to prove Apple is right.
To do that we’re going to hold a TVAUG Summer Challenge. And this isn’t just for you members. It’s a family challenge. We want to see entries from your children. And grandchildren. I’ve got a pair of great-granddaughters I bet will want to get involved.
Key to the Summer Challenge is a bunch of books which Apple has made available–for free–in the Books app. The guides are designed to help us create in four areas–Drawing, Music, Photo and Video. There’s also a Teacher Guide available to provide some guidance in the use of the guides. You can easily find them by going to the Books app and searching for “Create”.
Everyone in the family of a TVAUG member can participate and each of them can create one entry.
The fun is in the creating. But there is a little extra incentive. Every entrant will be eligible for a drawing for one of our $50 gift cards.
Board member Tony Crawford dreamed up this idea for the Summer Challenge. He’s available to answer any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 352-321-7845. All entries should be in Tony’s hands by Sept. 30 and the entries will be presented at the Club meeting Oct. 15. You will have the opportunity to say a few words about your project and the tools, tips and techniques you used.
Let’s get to work.
