Your Donations at Work – Helping the Visually Impaired

Dan, Lisa Fisher, Bill

Our Donations Team is out there again!

Bill and Sue Holstun met with New Vision For Independence, an organization out of Leesburg that can use donated Apple computers and products.  Lisa Fisher explained how they serve the vision loss community.

Bill and Sue were impressed to see the wide range of services they provide to the visually impaired in the Villages and surrounding Sumter and Lake Counties.  They provide rehabilitation, education, advocacy, and support services to help people with low vision or blindness.  This promotes independence and self-confidence toward the goal of removing the blindness as a barrier to daily activity and obtaining employment.  New Vision serve sall ages from the young to older adults.

They have a technical support staff to assist with learning the special programs and technologies that computers can deliver.

The Donations Team provided them with a 20 inch iMac to evaluate.  If the evaluation proves to be positive, TVAUG will be donating additional machines as they become available.
